Re: EJ205 GC Coupe
Update: Looks like these might be the seats I'll be going with.
Sparco ProADV
Also looks like I'll be going with Schroth harnesses. These will be the latch style rather than the usual cam-lock. With the conditions that everything will be subjected to, the cam-locks have been known to jam from dirt/grime. The latch system is bulkier, but less prone to failure in rally conditions.

Nothing like the feel of the wind in your helmet! I tried to opt for the convertable roll cage but that idea never really took off.
Anyways. Thanks, Will!

Re: EJ205 GC Coupe
Schools? It's not quite as direct as that. I'll be to Team O'Neil but there are months and moths of testing and driving before even that. Plus seat-time with an instructor on the west coast.

Re: EJ205 GC Coupe
Sorry for the lack of updates. Things are progressing. I'll get some more pics up a little later.
In other news I picked up an EJ257 shortblock. (Looks like I'll need to change the thread name soon!) Needs some work but should do nicely. It looks like we'll be running a hybrid motor after all. In even better news, I just got off the phone with the Sparco rep. Good things now paid for and on their way to the shop..
Hub is also on the way as well as the 490nr side mount
Stay tuned for more!

EJ257+2L Heads = A nice setup! If you're planning on keeping the stock ECU, there are even maps already out there for that setupCereb Daithi wrote:In other news I picked up an EJ257 shortblock. Re: EJ205 GC Coupe
So I might have an awesome garage to work on the GC in from time to time at my girlfriend's place.
Tons and tons of tools, air compressor, all sorts of welding equipment (on the other side of the trailer), big roof mounted chain pulley, and more. To make it even better you can drive out the front of the shop, and instead of turning left to go back down to the road, turn right and there there is the equivalent of a private ~1.5-2 km gravel rally special stage. This includes sharp turns, straight-aways, long sweeping turns, trees, and fields This place is bad ass. Hopefully I'm given permission to use it.
We went for a ride tonight to test the "stage" out and it was absurdly fun even on RE070s. It feels like it has been years since I've driven aggressively on gravel and felt fantastic to shake the cobwebs off.

Re: EJ205 GC Coupe
Work begins on the livery designs. I'm almost done making front and side views (For just being lines this is time intensive!). Still not sure if I'm going to bother with a top. Once those are done then I can start to get the team and sponsor logos on the car. Note: This is not the official final color of the car. It'll likely be a dark red but I haven't decided on a shade yet. Just tossing it on as a base coat for now. I'm just killing time before I go to bed.

Re: EJ205 GC Coupe
Not done yet.. but couldn't resist slapping a logo on to see how it looks. Once the front end is done then I'll actually start working on the livery itself.
