New here and will probably be moving down from MN
Hi everyone, the possibility of having to move down to VA is becoming more real every day. I have an 04 STi that is going on the dyno tomorrow for the injectors, fuel pump and boost control solenoid. So it will be interesting to see how that goes tomorrow here in MN. A little back ground on me, I have been a Subaru Service writer for about 4.5-5 years now, I now own 3 Subaru's, 04 STi, 96 legacy outback wagon and yes..a 1993 Legacy Turbo wagon with of course a 2.2t close deck motor. Hope to meet with some Subaru people when I move out.
I do have one big concern about bringing the STi out. Well we dont have inspections here in MN so we get away with a lot. Well my exhaust "works" well in MN, What all do they look for in VA in order to pass inspection?????????????
Hope to meet some of you soon.
Greg

DC area inspections are OBDII only. they're supposed to do a visual inspection but I've never heard of anyone with a late model car being failed on the visual. so long as you aren't getting any CELs you should be just fine.

Since Colin busted out the welcome first, I figure I'd throw in my own two cents.complacent wrote: Agreed on the OBDII and welcome!
Just remember, in Virginia, you have to own guns. It's hard to deal with the Dragons out on the Greenway and down south on the "little river" turnpike (such an ironic name for a hideously dangerous dragon-infested pike of turns!) without a 10ga punt gun.
And, sooner or later, your going to need a couple motorcycles.
That, and welcome.

Greetings from a (sadly) almost former MNer. You'll enjoy the cold wet winters, rude self centered type-A residents (present company excluded) and regional obsession with 'sweet tea' as little as I have.

Welcome Yup, lots of geeks abound, but no women, so I hope you're bringing one of your own.

Well that helped me a lot, thought I was going to have to by a new DP, well got back from the dyno today and here is the results, now this is on a Mustang dyno (Heart breaker) Stock turbo, UEL headers, Gimmick Inlet tube, intake, PE850's, fuel pump, Apexi GT spec exhaust, Stock Top mount.
Here are a couple picks of my car.
I guess I will also have to sell my radar detector

Welcome to the boards! Congrats on the dyno results, those look pretty good! I'm guessing from you installing PE850's that you're wanted to go to a larger turbo?
VA can be a bit of a pain when it comes to emissions/safety, but it's only every two years.
