TBE without EM?

Is this smart? IIRC you get some boost creep with this setup? I'm thinking about using the DP (from julian) and getting a nice cat back. I would put this on around thanksgiving and it would sit in the garage till febuary. So it would get like 2 miles a week, under very little boost (my dad would take it out on sundays so its not just sitting there). Would it be ok, for limited miles, and boost till i have enough money to get EM?

thanks

Yea dude, you'll be fine. I've got a full TurboXS TBE w/o engine management (at least until tonight anyways  ) and I've been running that way for almost two weeks now. Yes my boost gauge is telling me I'm going a pound or two over whay I should, but I haven't hit fuel cut yet either.

Short answer = yes, you'll be a-okay. :)

With my intake and a turbo-back, I was getting fuel-cut if I hit it hard in 5th or 6th, but I think you'll be fine. :)

The fuel trims on a stock ECU have to be quite rich, given that the ECU has to be flexible enough to adjust for altitude, air temp and density. Not to mention fuel quality. I doubt that you run any real risk of running dangerously lean from just boost creap.

Now, if you have your boost control set to 22psi and have wired in a fuel cut bypass, well then . . .

On stock boost you'll be fine.
The factory ECU runs rich enough that a little boost creep won't hurt.
Engine management will of course help, but plenty of people run a TBE with a stock ECU and have no issues.
