YouTube stuff in HD...ish...

I saw this a couple of weeks ago, but forgot to post up about it (and searched and couldn't find one either).

If you would like to see a higher resolution version of most movies on youtube, append &fmt=6 or &fmt=18 to the end of a video link. It should return a H.264 encoded clip at 480×360 resolution with a bit-rate up to 850K.

I tried it, and it works. When you append one to the end, a link appears below to video:

"Watch this video in lower quality for faster playback."


Good find! I'm happy with standard for the most part, but there's a few videos that would be nice in high res.
