i don't know what is local to you. most flocking i've seen is in the uk. the only thing i could find for the us is http://www.cellusuede.com/services/flockers.html and their mostly fabric flockers.

Well, being how this is a DC forum I assumed that local would be around the DC metro area, or are there members from other areas?

Thanks for the link. I figured that since this is a more rally-car based local forum, maybe someone may know about dash flocking.

Or if someone can recommend a good local upholstery shop that can line my dash with some sort of fabric that would be great as well.

The DC Metro area is a large area. We sometimes like to help members find services near them so they don't have to drive an hour out of their way. Where, specifically, are you located in the DC Metro area?

I'm located near the Wilson bridge, but I'm willing to go anywhere in within a 100 mile radius to find a good shop to do this.

It's hard to find a good shop that can do what you want so I'll take what I can get.

Agreed. The only two upholstery shops I know of that are wiling to take on any custom work (and i have no idea if they'll do the flocking or not) are Adler and Mandel in Rockville MD and Rankin in Gaithersburg MD.

If nothing else, they might be able to point you in the right direction.

Adler and Mandel did a great job. They were able to line my dash with black headliner. It looks terrific, and cost much less than I originally thought. I may have them do my whole interior.

Thanks for the recommendation. It worked out really well.

Damn. I didn't know you guys were this excited about it.

We ended up just gluing headliner onto the top of the aluminium dash. It works really well. The texture really dissipate sunlight glare and also gives the dash some cushioning.

Right now only the top part of the dash is lined. I have a 4 piece dash. 2 pieces on top. 2 pieces as the face where I mount my vents, gauges, and controls. After I finalize the entire layout I may have the entire dash lined as well.

I'll take some pix today.

Finally, after such a long time working on it and putting everything together, the dash is finally in.

It's a 4piece aluminium dash. The top half was lined with headliner by Adler and Mandel to take away some of the glare. I think it looks really good, for a race car...

Looks very stock from the outside.

Driver's view. Pretty spartan.

Thanks for everybody's help and interest.

Thanks for the praise.

I'm going to get the bottom halves lined as well so they match and would sit flushed with the steering column. None of that sheet metal gap between the steering column and the switches.

I was more concerned with testing fitment.
