Gone But not forgotten

Yeah I think the car is gone to far to turn back. I'm really starting to think of my options for a turbo swap. I'm happy with stage 2 but I think I want another 50/50 hp/tq. Maybe get some STI takeoffs on the cheap from one of you guys........
Darren I am gonna start puttin cash away the best I can. I like the idea of a vf22 and sti tmic. Or one of those super 16G's. I think if I could hit like 270ish awhp and 300ish wftlbs I would be a very happy wagon owner.
You should make more than 300 ftlbs (depending on the dyno and the amount of timing advance the tuner gives it)
Just keep an eye out on the "for sale" boards. used vf39s show-up all the time for around $300-350. Don't get too fixated on the vf22. They are becoming a rare item any more.
Looking great! Definitely start saving for the swap. Also keep in mind that your tranny won't like you very much if you much past 300whp.

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

That's not true as much as it used to be. The 02-03s had problems, but the 04+ have stronger gears. No, they're not bomb-proof, but they will hold the power without as many issues as the earlier versions. Just watch your launches and don't slam the gear changes and you should be fine.
Any idea how much they can stand with normal driving?

The best example I can think of is Justin Collins' 04 WRX with an 8cm td05-18G with meth putting down 352whp and 358 lbft, and running 11.7 @ 122mph and it has over 70,000 miles on it and is still on the stock tranny and stock ej205 motor.
Wow, they really are holding a lot more than they use to! Great info, thanks Darrin

My wife made me an offer the other day. She has wanted me to get some braces for a while now and I had an evaluation and the dentist says he needs to schedule me for oral surgery to cut out my wisdom teeth. So my first thoughts were f no. I don't like the idea of going under anesthesia. So I nicely told the wife sorry maybe later. So she then asked me what I truely would want for the car. I said turbo, IC, tune, and some PPG's. She then said scratch my back and i'll scratch yours. So know she has gotten me thinking. She also said what if I could pick up an 08 STI. I told her don't even tangle that around me. Im trying not to think about it. But oh so tempting.

The braces I only dislike so so. Its the going under part. I have been under before and had iffy reactions. That and the Army dentist said likely 3 years in braces. That just sucks. And invisiliners arent an option. When she offered the proposition I thought she was joking.
Darren I know a cheap vf turbo and sti tmic and an OTS map would be cheap. But I think if im gonna do it I would want to go outside the VF series(big 16g or 20g)and would also want the most out of my protune. I don't want to have to worry about torque. I would want to be able to drive the car somewhat hard. A PPG box would just give me peace of mind. Then there is having a fast ride that would need better stoppers and likely some new struts or coil overs. This just gets me to thinking how much I like the car as it sits.
