Chair Entertainment, developers of the recent Xbox Live Arcade game Undertow, will begin creating videogames based on Orson Scott Card's classic novel Ender's Game, the developer announced today.

Development on the games, which will be based on the "Battle Room" from the novels, will begin later this year. Newsweek reports that the games will use Epic's Unreal Engine 3.

While Chair plans to have Ender's Game on next-generation consoles, handhelds, and PC, the first game is slated to debut for "downloadable platforms," such as Xbox Live Arcade.

This is one of my favorite books, and I always thought the battleroom would make an interesting (albeit short) game.

This is my favorite series as well. I damn near cried reading the last one. I can't wait to see this and the movie!

Why oh why won't the Unreal 3 engine die??? I swear half the FPS and such all use it.

It's like the MTV of source engines now.
