Benchmarked against the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Infiniti M and Lexus GS, the top-of-the-line Genesis boasts an all-new 4.6-liter V8 that sends power to the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic ZF gearbox with manual shift control. Named "Tau," the DOHC powerplant is equipped with variable valve timing, and produces an estimated 368 hp.

They've really built themselves into a reputable company. I can't wait to see what happens.
Over in Korea, they have been selling luxo cars for some time now - to the tune of 60+ thousand dollars.
Go Hyundai!

I still say they should put the V8 into the new coupe and give the muscle cars a run for their money (and call it the Tiburon).

Small light car with a big v8? I'm all for it!

The best part of the Genesis is the fact that Hyundai didn't put their ugly badge on the front and the rear one can be easily removed. Very beautiful car for under $30k IMHO:

Actually, the new sport coupe (tiburon replacement) that comes fitted w/ a V6 is pretty damn sweet looking. It is in the new R&T and if they put the V8 in that puppy...well, that would be even better.

I've never thought of Hyundai as a performance brand. Hyundai, to me, means cheap and reliable A to B vehicles. Performance? No. Style? No. Manly? Hellllll no.
But it looks like Hyundai's trying to enter a different market. Let's see how they do.

I've always been open to Hyundai shifting markets, more so than other manufacturers, for some reason. This Genesis is much more attractive than I suspected, and I'm really excited to see if the Tiburon turns out to be everything they're claiming!

In a world of crap-plastic front grilles, this one I like.

the new Genesis coupe isn't going to replace the Tiburon, as of the last reports from
C&D and Autoblog. personally I'd have a hard time putting down money for a FWD "sporty" Tiburon with a powerful RWD sports coupe sitting next to it on the lot.
