link o' doom!!!

Stats:

0-60 = 3.3 Sec

1/4 = 11.6@120+

This served as an opportunity to witness the GT-R's striking at-the-limit composure. Blasting across the bumpy painted lines between cones, you get the sense that this is truly a special car. Its chassis remains composed and it goes exactly where it's pointed despite the ugly surface. There's none of the puckering that comes with driving a Vette or Viper this fast through a slalom. Nor is there the sense that the rear-mounted engine of a 911 Turbo is eventually going to find its way to the front.

The GT-R is versatile, with plenty of control latitude, and the difference between the limit of grip and the limit of control is huge. It's probably the most easily controlled car we've slid sideways between the cones. More importantly, its abilities are far more accessible for the average driver than those of its competition.

At 72.9 mph, it's quicker here than the Z06 and 911 Turbo but can't quite match the huge-tired Viper (74.2 mph). Still, it will be interesting to see how these numbers compare when all three cars are tested at the same place and time.

Wow, I need a smoke. That was gooooood. This thing is a monster for the money...

in Zak's Top Gear magazine The Stig said the new GT-R was the best all around sports car he's ever driven. "it doesn't pass the goal posts, it obliterates them"

I still think it's ungainly looking, but with a recommendation like that from The Stig...

That thing is definitely a dream. Maybe one day when we're all millionaire's! Damn impressive engineering in that thing. It definitely deserves the name GT-R.

I am absolutely amazed with that cars' performance. Super cars are becoming cheaper to own.

Agreed. what I find amazing is that the sucker weighs that much and is still able to perform like it does. That thing has some junk in the trunk!!!!

I wonder what a 3-year lease split 7-ways on this thing would be like...
Or, I bet the resale on these things would be pretty good. Get one person to buy it, and have 9 others chip in for payments for a couple of years, the sell it off.

Purchase price of ~$75k, interest and insurance for two years = $90k
Sell it for $45K. $90k- $45k=$45k
$45K split to 10 people over two years ~$190/mo. That is about $200 for three days of driving.
Hello, we are a car club after all.

Hell, I'd rent it for that!

Dude, even if you had the money, you'd need another $30k for the dealer markup. I wanna find the cocksuckers that pay those markups, beat them senseless, and take their money.

(did anyone notice that the car went fastest when the torque went ass-ward?)
