only managed to catch a few parts of a couple episodes of his show, but he seems like a hella-cool guy. is he doing a book signing?

yep, i think so.
i have read one of his books, "a cook's tour", in which he tries to find the perfect meal around the world. highly entertaining.
when he goes to tell his boss that he is taking a year sabbatical from les halles in nyc (les halles in dc is excellent, btw), his boss tells him that he is calling up his own mother in portugal to start fattening up a pig for a complete pig feast.
excellent read, and very witty humor. i look forward to hearing what he has to say in person. haven't really seen much of the tv shows.

also Kitchen Confidential (excellent) and two murder mysteries, one of which is called A Bone in the Throat. I don't remember the other, but we've read all of them. The mystery stuff wasn't for me, but Sandy liked it.

Yeah, my wife loves that show and I think we have it all on DVR. Pretty decent show. Will have to let the wife know.
