I love water injection, again

Post by zaxrex »

OK so over the long weekend I took a trip over the hills and through the woods. I didn't think much of anything until I looked at my trip indicator that i reset after each fill-up.

Usually I get 280-320 miles on a tank, depending on how bright the light gets.

I looked at the indicator and it said 389, and no light was on. When the light came on, the ticker was at 402.

I realised that the super gain was because I was either on boost going up hills, or in angel gear coasting down the back ends.

Having the water to replace the extra fuel for cooling let me run real lean while under boost. Being under boost with the increase in VE and running so lean, sure did go a long way to boost up the efficiently.

Lean is mean.

That is all

Congrats! This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer takes a Sabb for a test drive to see how much actual gas mileage the car can get.

I have given a great amount of thought to it and had originally decided against it for really just one reason "fail safes" If I could be convinced that there was a system that could switch maps in the event of a system failure (nozzle blockage, pump failure, hose break, no fluid, blown fuse, etc.) at a cost that wasn't cost prohibitive, I would do it.
