For some reason, I love this car... anyone else?

Little more than a STI and just looks like fun :)

Yeah, the Elise is sick. Amazing what a Toyota engine can do in a light weight two seater. It's one of those 'when I win the lottery....' cars for me.

Last I heard, they could be had for like 38k, not bad at all :) Not lottery money, but not easy either... I wonder what the MPG is like, lol, it would make a cute commuter car, hahahaha

Honestly, the milage should be pretty good... the Celica GT-S gets 27/33 for the manual, and though I think they perked the engine up a little more for the lotus, the car is also lighter. I can't imagine that the suspension would be very comfy on DC roads though so I guess it would depend on where you work as to how much of a commuter it would be.

Beautiful car :D If only I had $40K just lying around.....
I've seen 3 now, 1 at the FedEx autox and 2 yesterday at Aberdeen. Mmmm... I don't think they ever got out without a ride-along and they were still pulling down killer times.

I just got back from 2 weeks in England and I saw probably 10-15 while I was there. They look awesome from the outside, but the interior looks really sterile and bare bones. I dont think I could live with that interior as a daily commuter.

There is a yellow one that is circling around the Reston/Herndon area. I've seen him a few times. The car is a lot shorter than I'd imagined. I'd like to get behind the wheel though, I bet they are pretty responsive!:D

MR-S + 2ZZ = 95% of the Elise at half the cost. That leaves a lot of money for mods :)

I agree, that is a great car w/ the engine swap, but.... it's a LOTUS we're comapring it to! ;) I've never been one for names though, so I agree, the MR2 is a very good choice. If only it was awd, I probably would have bought that. I've always loved the MR2 and the Miata for some reason. Just small cars that mod easily. The Toyo is also cheaper to insure!!!!

Are you going to bring the little guy out to the next meet? How good of shape is it in? I know Bluscooby (Colin) loved his Miata and would probably like to see this one :)
