Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

With that turbo, quite possible depending on what they did to the block and if they are running WI. My worry with that big of a turbo is lag...WANGAN_X wrote:we will hold the oontzing until i get a complete parts list...
but it is a 06 running a claimed 604awhp and 580lb/ft at 23psi on a built STI block
sound legit?
Oh, and as the fella's said:

well he sold the 42, but has a perrin 35r on it now...
the question at hand is, is this capable of the claimed hp he said on the 35 it should be around
I am running a Perrin gt35r rotated mount turbo kit, RPS clutch, greddy turbo timer and boost controller, PE 850cc injectors, hks ssqv bov, turbo xs fmic, blitz nur spec exhaust, tein s-tech springs, greddy remote switch, defi boost and egt gauge, stewart warner 60 psi boost gauge, tein hood dampers, 6.5’ tv

You know, the Supra people do 700-800hp on that turbo. They wait for 5,000 rpm and pull up to 7,500-8,000 rpm. At that point, they squeeze for the additional 200hp to get to 1,000hp. It's kind of insane to realize that they have five-friggin-thousand-rpm of turbo lag, but there are two things to remember:Sabre wrote:My worry with that big of a turbo is lag...
1) it will blow a busa off the road.
2) even down at 3,000rpm these guys are making 300hp. it's not like they're a slouch off boost...
With that said, I'm all for huge lag as long as there's north of 600hp to look forward to. Lag is actually one of the things I love most about turbocharged cars. Most of the time, it's docile. Sort of like Schroedinger's cat, right? Out of the box could come a Ford Escort or a Ferrari Enzo. The only difference is, it's determined by my right foot and the gear I choose coming out of a turn, not a Feynman Diagram.
(oh, and bump! I'm reading through my backlog in Google Reader)

If you asking if he is getting 604awhp and 580lb/ft at 23psi on a 35R... I'll just say I think he would be the first person to do so. Knock those down about 100hp/100lbs/ft and you're in 35R territory. Here is a 35R on race gas that is making 540whp and 540lbs/ft while boost was set at 31psi. At 23psi, he'd be a lot lower than that.WANGAN_X wrote: 06 running a claimed 604awhp and 580lb/ft at 23psi on a built STI block
Ya, but I'm guessing his redline is probably 7500, depending on who built that engine. A 42R wouldn't spool till easily 5000 or 5500rpm. That doesn't give much "fun time"avriette wrote:You know, the Supra people do 700-800hp on that turbo. They wait for 5,000 rpm and pull up to 7,500-8,000 rpm. you sir/ma'am should be shot out of a canon for saying such blasphemous statements...avriette wrote:and "HEAVY" and "NOT MR"... doesn't making an MR2 AWD totally defeat the purpose of a light, low-displacement, mid-engined, rear-drive car? I actually knew a kid at NASA HQ that had one that he was *trying* to get working... I have no idea what happened to it after I left.
