It reminds me a lot of the teenager street racing cars. They'd take tempra paint or whatever was handy and "match" the upholstery to the outside of the car. I've never really understood painting the inside. Maybe if it had been, you know, upholstered and didn't look like a nursery school "decorate your car" contest. The only reason I'd ever put THAT much effort into painting my car is if it was a convertible show car that already looked wacky.
