ok, so i was installing the aps turbo intake pipe today. and i ran into a problem...keep in mind, i didn't install it according to the directions b/c that requires removing the intake manifold, and i'm not up to that level yet. but i've seen over on the nabisco that it can be done on the wrx w/o removing the manifold, so i started...

now, the problem...trying to reinstall the bpv hose onto the intake pipe right here:

any suggestions as to how to push the hose onto that?

The person that I know has had experience with that part of the intake is Julian.

After I cut his inlet pipe, he had to replace it with a silicone one. See if he can post up his experience with that section.

the APS turbo inlet is a hard pipe, correct? I don't think you can install a hard inlet without removing the intake manifold. it's very difficult to get a silicone inlet pipe installed without removing the mani. best of luck.

Wow, I imagine a hard pipe is going to be a difficult install...

That being said, once you get the pip in there, the BOV hose is a bitch. You can go one of two routes:
1.) Get the lip of the hose on to the inlet and then pull it forward with a pair of vice grips. Put the vice grips around the part of the hose that is barely on the inlet and pull it onto the inlet.
2.) Go to AutoZone/Napa etc. and buy a longer piece of hose :)

Hope that helps :)

yeah, its a hard pipe. the fuel lines that would have been moved if i had take then manifold off were the point were i had to do the most wiggling to get it to move any further.

this is the route that i think i'm looking at...and if all else fails, i guess i'm going atmospheric!

ok kids, got the stuffs working...

i ended up going to autozone, picking out a hose that had a few bends in it, and picked up some clamps too. got home, and i was able to get the original bpv hose on there w/ a little more effort, so no need for the new hoses. i did use the new clamp.

here's the finished product.

the silicon to my rampod doesn't match up very well. i could clamp it, but as you can see, its not as clean as it could be.

I am quite impressed. Putting in a hard pipe w/o removing the intake manifold. Good job.

Good job. Any reason that silicon connector intake tube is so far off the turbo inlet pipe?

actually yeah, but if you look at their site, this pic:

it looks like its not meant to flex as much as i'm trying to get it to do. which is odd, b/c that's their ram pod w/ bracket i'm running. i'm gonna move it around a bit to see if i can get a better fitment.

And not scratching the pipe to death!
