aps tip install problem.
ok, so i was installing the aps turbo intake pipe today. and i ran into a problem...keep in mind, i didn't install it according to the directions b/c that requires removing the intake manifold, and i'm not up to that level yet. but i've seen over on the nabisco that it can be done on the wrx w/o removing the manifold, so i started...
now, the problem...trying to reinstall the bpv hose onto the intake pipe right here:
any suggestions as to how to push the hose onto that?

Wow, I imagine a hard pipe is going to be a difficult install...psuwrx wrote: any suggestions as to how to push the hose onto that?
That being said, once you get the pip in there, the BOV hose is a bitch. You can go one of two routes:
1.) Get the lip of the hose on to the inlet and then pull it forward with a pair of vice grips. Put the vice grips around the part of the hose that is barely on the inlet and pull it onto the inlet.
2.) Go to AutoZone/Napa etc. and buy a longer piece of hose
Hope that helps

yeah, its a hard pipe. the fuel lines that would have been moved if i had take then manifold off were the point were i had to do the most wiggling to get it to move any further.
this is the route that i think i'm looking at...and if all else fails, i guess i'm going atmospheric!Sabre wrote: 2.) Go to AutoZone/Napa etc. and buy a longer piece of hose

ok kids, got the stuffs working...
i ended up going to autozone, picking out a hose that had a few bends in it, and picked up some clamps too. got home, and i was able to get the original bpv hose on there w/ a little more effort, so no need for the new hoses. i did use the new clamp.
here's the finished product.
the silicon to my rampod doesn't match up very well. i could clamp it, but as you can see, its not as clean as it could be.

Good job. Any reason that silicon connector intake tube is so far off the turbo inlet pipe?
