Code: Select all

Researchers at Saint Louis University in Missouri have cooked up biodegradable fuel cell batteries that they say can run on just about any sugar source and that can last three or four times longer per charge than typical lithium ion batteries. Commercial versions could be ready in three to five years, the researchers say.

So if a=b and b=c that means the cells can run on beer, right?

Driver: That depends on what you mean by "in the car".

Sorry, this just reminds me of the one scene from "13th warrior":

Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan: [as Herger offers a mead horn] I can taste neither the fermentation of grape, nor of wheat.
[Herger laughs]
Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan: What? Why do you laugh?
Herger the Joyous: [laughing, and handing over the bottle] HONEY! It's made from honey!

I like cheese.

But this is a pretty good idea as well. I'll have to read more about it and see what the waste products are.

I know the side effects...instant power for the first few hours but then slow and sluggish after the sugar high ends.
