I did a little ninja edit to help with the dyno graph posting.

had a good time hanging with you and Darrin on a cold Saturday morning. I'm jealous of the numbers you guys put down. :P

Nice! Congrats on the great numbers!

Thanks! It's much better with the graph posted. Saturday was well worth it, even in the cold since it held off the heat soak until the 4th pull (numbers peaked on pull #3).

And that is on the Cobb base stage 2 MAP.
Take a good look at his AFRs beyond 5,000 RPMs. The Accessport is running the car CRAZY rich! Just imagine what that LGT will put down once it's tuned properly! He's going to get 300whp & 300ftlbs with just a few modifications and very little expense.

I am so jealous of this car!

I'm running a bit lean through 4,000-5,000 RPMs
The blue was first the red second. Notice the ECU was already making corrections to the fuel map, and while my peak power dropped by about 1.3 whp my torque actually increased by 1.3 ftlbs. The graph is also a bit smoother as well.

I'm guessing that Al has you running a little lean to get the spool up... I don't think that you would loose that much by richening it up a little though. The nice thing is, the ECU should prevent any big problems from that if it detects knock anyway.

Good numbers, Gentlemen! Hey Darrin, maybe we can compare acceleration of our cars before I get my car detuned.

by zaxrex
Hmm, lets see you have the 2.5 and the 4.11 and the D-man has the 2.0 and the 3.9.

I'm going to give the acceleration title to you Will, but the time to speed to Darrin.

Actually, if he's a 5 sp manual the final drive ratio is 4.44 vs 3.9.
That's a big advantage. However, the FXT's curb weight is 3,350 lbs and the WRX wagon's is 3,100 lbs.

Hey, how the hell did I confuse a $EAT final drive with the Forester? I have one of them sitting in the back yard.

Don't ever let me do that again.

Are you sure about that weight difference? 240LBS I mean that is only me and the suitcases I took the Canada in weight difference.

The problem is subaru only gives curb weight, which isn't always the same as gross vehicle weight. I don't have any other sources on this and the web isn't nearly as helpful as I'm not certain what sources to trust.

It should also be pointed out that according to SOA the 2006 STi is nearly as heavy (3,351lbs) as the 2006 Legacy GT manual (3,365) and significantly heavier than the old WRX 3,040 (sedan) 3,100 (wagon)

That should speak well for my car :D
More power than a stock STi and a bowling ball heavier? How far off would they be on accel?

My guess is that with an aggressive launch and quick shifting, no stock STi (or EVO for that matter) has any chance of keeping pace with you.
Stock STis put down 240-245 whp / ftlbs on MachV's dyno.

Finally got that tune last Saturday.
It was done by the same guy scheduled for the P-tuning Dyno Day that got cancelled.
After one week, I decided to share my thoughts on how well Zippper is currently running.

Power:
Low end response and torque have got to be way up.

Grade: A+

Cooling:
Heat soak is coming much faster with the leaner mixture, or else it is just more noticeably dogged when hot. Get moving at 45mph+ and response picks back up again.

Grade: C+

Fuel mileage:
Absolutely through the roof. During a Friday rush-hour trip to work and a lunchtime trip home, I maintained my typical driving style of consistently being either the fastest or equal to the fastest car in the left lane, never the slowest, and merging for position at lights when necessary. Yet there was definitely nothing to attract the Schutzstaffel during my commute. Probably a typical tuner's daily driver behavior when not side-by side with a potential kill.

I checked my mileage monitor after this trip, which was the only distance that I logged:

Distance Traveled: 24.1 miles
AVG MPG: 29.4

A 4-5 MPG improvement over what I would typically get pre-tuned under similar conditions.

Grade: A++++ . . . Bonus!:ya: . . . Level Up!:plusone: . . . Killing Spree!:bfg:

In addition, I watch the Current MPG setting on my dash often, and 35-40 pure highway is about the range I have seen thus far. No real logged trip yet though.

Now I just need to re-visit MachV to see if I'm running at higher HP/tq.

Overall grade: A

I doubt I'll go FMIC route. But the sprayer on the other hand... :goodvsevil:

or a CO2 sprayer, or NOS sprayer.

Sprayer or larger TMIC will solve that problem! Glad to see you are so happy with the tune!!!

Brake out the alcohol! Injection that is. Wave bye-bye to heat soak problems.

I've been trying to justify to myself an AVO TMIC for a while now.

I believe you now have all the justification you need ;)
