Clearing my headlamps

Well in my quest to make my GD6 stand out just a bit more... i've decided i'd like to clear my headlights. I've already seen some tutorials on baking them in the oven or for a slower safer method, using a hair dryer... what id like to find out from you guys is. have any of you done it and have any problems arisen such as condensation? also is this legal? from what I can see i'll be removing the orange lens from the turn signal... this will make my front turn signals white? Should I look into getting orange bulbs? Also didn't i remember reading that there have to be certain orange parts on all cars made after a certain year or something? haha i'm just covering all the bases before i start cooking parts of my car

Yep, Mr Kleen is the one to talk to. AFAIK, you have to replace the cleared lights with orange bulbs.

Technically they aren't. The law says something about the light having to be amber. In my Integra, I bought clear turn signals and put in amber bulbs. Most inspections stations don't even care. I don't know about the cops.

i have a feeling that any car with a big hood scoop and gold rims driven by a young guy will probably get them picky over adding things to any ticket

I cleared mine, just used the directions that are widely available on NASIOC. take your time, especially when putting them back together. the sealant is really easy to get on the reflectors and you'll NEVER get the reflector clean again. ever. I got a very tiny spot on one of them but you can't see it unless I point it out. would probably loose points at a car show but nothing that I notice day to day...

i swapped the amber bulbs from the rear turn signals because the fronts are difficult to get to. then I replaced the headlights and went right out to get amber bulbs for the rear.

some people get clear bulbs that light up amber for the fronts. I just installed amber bulbs. I don't mind a little color in the headlights.

I'll post pictures this weekend if you want.

sounds good to me! Yeah a little bit of color doesnt bother me. I plan to leave the orange running lights in place as well. just want to get rid of the obvoius orangeness on the front
