Re: Subaru wins Europe’s first Time Attack
Holy shit, they won against an FD, a Super Seven, and an Ariel Atom? I have to say the people in the Caterham and the Atom really failed if that's the case. Which isn't to say that the Subaru is not a phenomenal car. That is rather to say that the Atom and the Caterham are cars unto themselves.Cereb Daithi wrote:found this on nasioc. details here

Yeah. The Motec data confirms he really busted ass out there. The only thing I'd complain about is turn 9, but the summary says they couldn't get on the throttle right there because of the sound regulations. Watching the video confirms it. I'd be interested in knowing what kind of transmission they are using (looks sequential to me..), what sort of front-rear braking (they don't mention the brakes at all) and torque bias they were using, and how they lightened the car. From the outside it looks mostly stock, but I kind of doubt that's the case.Cereb Daithi wrote:yeah i was surprised about the atom. the subaru must have also had a damn good driver as well.
Although.. If you've got Cosworth helping you build a motor, it's hardly surprising that it's a demon on the track. I thought the Caterhams had Cosworth working with them as well. Where were the 450hp 7AGE twincharged Caterhams? Was that a supercharged Atom? So many questions!
