This weekend, my dad cleaned off my K&N filter for me. My brother helped me put it back in, and he noticed that the filter box wasn't sealed at the bottom. We re-seated it and bolted it back down.

Now, the problem is, ever since then the car has been quieter, and a little more smooth, leading me to believe that for the PAST 34K MILES, MY AIR FILTER BOX HAS BEEN OPEN TO DEBRIS!

I'm not blaming myself for this oversight, as the car was clearly like this when I bought it. I'm just greatful that nothing bad happened.

Yea, the K&N filters are notorious for not sealing properly in suby air boxes...

Good thing you caught it!
