Mal-seated air filter

This weekend, my dad cleaned off my K&N filter for me. My brother helped me put it back in, and he noticed that the filter box wasn't sealed at the bottom. We re-seated it and bolted it back down.

Now, the problem is, ever since then the car has been quieter, and a little more smooth, leading me to believe that for the PAST 34K MILES, MY AIR FILTER BOX HAS BEEN OPEN TO DEBRIS! :violent:

I'm not blaming myself for this oversight, as the car was clearly like this when I bought it. I'm just greatful that nothing bad happened.

Yea, the K&N filters are notorious for not sealing properly in suby air boxes...

Good thing you caught it!

You'll probably be fine. Just always make sure to check those connections :)

Even if something had gone horribly wrong, that's just an excuse to buy a newer car :D
