Sony Officially Kills Off UMD!

Although I shouldn't be surprised by this, I still thought they'd stubbornly hang onto the format (ala MiniDisc) until at least the 10th year of production.

It's about time! Nobody wanted to spend 30 bucks on a movie just to watch it on the PSP when you could spend 20 watch it everywhere else. Now they just need to come out with blank UMDs so I can put whatever I want on there.

this is one fad that needed to die a quick, painful death. to this day i still can't fathom why people think watching movies on a tiny screen at low resolution is a
good thing. do you need to watch movies "on the go?" how about paying attention to your surroundings or... gasp... taking them in?
