After Hyperfest I coudln't stand being stock any longer. So I took the plunge and ordered an APS 3" Exhaust.
I also got a CAI (also APS), STI Pink Springs, Camber Plates and hardened rear top mounts.

NICE!!! is the exhast turbo or cat back? if its Turbo, you should add some sort of EM.
It's a turboback

Accessports are on national backorder right now, so I have to wait a little while before I can get one.

Congrats dude

I've never heard a APS, so I DEFINITELY want to hear it once it's on!

careful with that CAI... I just removed my intake silencer and installed a K&N panel filter. but I am a cheap skate.
you can install the muffler right away but like the guys said, you should wait for EM before doing the full turbo back.
are the hardened mounts necessary on the STi? I thought they were pretty damn stiff stock.

he'll be fine with the CAI, i have mine on for close to 10K and went though some interesting stree---small ponds
If its a full turbo Back, you WILL run rich and you WILL have boost creep. So you can install it, but just take it easy, no WOT pulls at high RPM's.. nothing like that till you get EM.
if its jsut a cat back, you'll be fine installing it all and having a blast after!
Yeah, I know I need EM

and dammit if I don't want an Access Port right now, but I gotta wait.
In the meantime, I will have to get by admiring my shiny new turboback exhaust.
As for the hardened rear strut mounts, I've heard conflicting opinions about their worth. They aren't too expensive I'm not gonna sweat it.

it wasn't the water that I was worried about (although that is something to be aware of) it's all the talk I've heard of CAI's causing a lean condition in one of the cylinders (#3 maybe?). but I'm only parroting back what I've read on teh int3rw3bs...
Is the lean condition on STIs or just WRXs?

because as rich as STIs run I can't imagine a lean condition with just intake and exhaust upgrades.
I could be wrong though, so I will probably take it easy on the throttle til I get EM.

The APS CAI is properly designed not to throw a lean code, provided it's the new model with a "65" embossed on the inside of the elbow.

What, you didn't want to go w/ the 3.5" exhaust?...I kid. Should be nice. Are you going catted or catless?
I'm going with the

As long as it isn't the APS 3.5" TBE. I've heard that thing and it is CRAZY LOUD!
No sane human being who cares about his hearing would put that on his car!
