The previously proposed split season, with a move to a summer-Spring season instead of the current calendar year system has been dropped. Rally Australia, Turkey and Cyprus are missing from the calendar but may be added at a later date, taking their place are Rally Norway, Rally Portugal and Rally of Ireland.
As a cost saving measure, a limit on the number of engines, with a single specification per year, will be introduced from 1 January 2007. The number of engines, with detailed regulations, will be proposed at the next World Council meeting.
