Meet - Wednesday September 8th, 2004
Hello all,
The next meeting of DC All Wheel Drive will be on Wednesday 09/08/04. The meet starts at 7pm and we usually leave for a local dinning establishment around 8:15 or so. Anyone is welcome to attend, just have a love of cars! The last meet was 53 cars, so we're trying to break 60 this time!
For those that know the area, the meet takes place to the right of the Hoytes (now Regal) movie theatre in Potomac Yards. The address is:
Regal Potomac Yard 16
3575 Jefferson Davis Highway
Alexandria, VA 22305
If you turn in by the Hops, just follow the road between the buildings straight infront of you, then turn right once you come to the theatre. You will see us on the far right hand side. Approximate driving times are:
Herndon: 45 minutes
Oldtown: 10 minutes
Springfield: 20 minutes
Downtown DC: 20 minutes
Annapolis: 45min - 1 hour
Silverspring: 45 minutes
College Park: 30 minutes
The usual format is meeting for about an hour or so, then taking off to a local restaurant for dinner. Dinner is optional, but seems to be enjoyed by all those that attend.
Pictures of past meets can be found at http://www.dcawd.com/modules.php?name=Gallery
Most up to date information found in our forum, http://www.dcawd.com/modules.php?name=F ... wforum&f=1
Let me know if you are coming so that we can try to keep an accurate count for the restaurant.
PLEASE keep things reasonable coming into the parking lot. We have the approval of the property management to be at this location and I would hate to loose it. We can have fun on the way to dinner, so keep it till then
Take care all and I hope to see you there!

Question came up on NASIOC, meet is still on, if the weather is bad we'll probably leave for dinner early and leave a couple folks behind to direct stragglers. Call the cell number in the first post for up-to-the-minute information.

aka, OMG. I'm never going to catch you at this point.. Good to 550HP... I take it you got the rest of your tranny together too? lol, the 5MT would break at the sight of this thing coming at it.
Congrats man, you'll have the ULTIMATE sleeper when this is done. Are you going to do the work yourself, or enlist some professionals? If you're doing it yourself, let me know and I'll throw a wrench in there.

Well, my immediate thought is to sell it off and make some money to cover the accident repairs.
If a set of heads come along ffor a cheap price, it might be a bit more tempting to use it. That would throw out the RA gearsets, can you think about 400 ft/lb and those close ratio gears??? Id then have to get an 6-speed box, and on and on and on.
No, right now, I am treating this like an investment.

Ouch, that sucks. I thought it was complete. The install might be able to be done by a couple of us over a weekend thoughzaxrex wrote:Well unless you know where to get 10Gs to for the installation and acquisition of a 6-speed box, I'm sorta stuck.

Had a good meet! It didn't rain at all while we were in Alexandria, rained a little bit on the drive to dinner, didn't rain while we chatted before going into dinner, rained while we were eating, and then didn't rain while we chatted after dinner. As soon as we got in our cars to leave it started to rain.
20 cars, including 6 Evo's. Pictures should be up in a couple days.

did any of you guys saw that red with black flames DSM convertible 8O in the parking lot? I think that it look really good , exept one major thing that made me laugh about it, the car had 4g64-trb on its plates. now I know that the turbo dsm's have a 4G63 turbo engine, I think that the owner does not have a clue about what he has under the hood
