That spoiler is only attached by 3M tape, correct? How well does that hold at high speeds?

I'd e-mail the guy through e-bay to find out the answer to this. I suppose the air forces the spoiler down on the car, but I'd still ask :)

the real Mines stuff is supposed to be great quality. you never know about knock-offs...

I dig the lip spoiler look. I'd go the extra step and have it molded on to the trunk and repaint the entire panel.

don't forget: if your 3rd brake light is in the spoiler and you replace it with this, you'll need a new parcel shelf with interior mount 3rd brake light to remain legal for DC area safety inspection.

I've already got the interior shelf 3rd brake light since I never had a spoiler to begin with. Waiting on a reply about the attachment... 8)

it sticks on with 3M tape. pretty standard method, the only issue is how well the spoiler fits the trunk to begin with. that you will only know by inspecting one in person.

hhmmm... I am with you on the molded in method, it'd look pretty slick if the fitment is right to begin with.

Now I just gotta get this cake done next week to pay for it and a DP...

Got an answer from the spoiler manufacturer:

I do not supply the tape or bosses. These can be attached with automotive 3M double sided tape or a boss insert. If using insert holes need to be drilled in both trunk and spoiler to mount

Whatya think?

I'm still holding out for an s202/ s204 trunk. If I can get a hold of one of those that STi wing is gone.

you going to get this? I'd be interested to see the fitment. it may take some effort, but if you have a place to work you could do the prep work. sand down the area of the trunk where the lip mounts, stick in on, bondo, sand, repeat. just like cake frosting...

the better it fits, the less work you have to do to make it fit. if I had a garage to work in, I'd be all over it.

Hey Gabe, I've yet to order it but that is the plan. I must admit you've lessened my trepidation by compairing Bondo to cake icing... It does seem like the best option would be to fully mould it into the trunk lid. Repainting the lid wouldnt be incredibly expensive, would it?

You can also PM lance aka "Hypnotk" over on nasioc. He does good work and can usually get in touch w/ him faster than John. He works right on the edge of alexandria and annandale right past home depot at the Cherner Linconln/Mercury 6500 Little River Turnpike next to Jerry's Ford. FYI. Tell him I sent you.

so do you have the lip spoiler now? I'm trying to get up with a guy to trade for a wingless trunk. a Mines [knock off] would look great on there. 8)
