Not those dreams sicko's...

Google Browser Sync:
Google Browser Sync for Firefox is an extension that continuously synchronizes your browser settings – including bookmarks, history, persistent cookies, and saved passwords – across your computers. It also allows you to restore open tabs and windows across different machines and browser sessions.

Please note: Google Browser Sync must update your browser settings whenever you start Firefox. This will increase the start-up time of Firefox (the time between clicking on the Firefox icon and loading your start page) – please bear with us as we work to decrease this delay.

Last time I saw something like this, it used a Netscape LDAP server to contain it all. Kind of over kill for the application. At the scale that google is doing this though, it almost makes sense. I've never much cared for del.icio.us and such.

Browser Sync FTW! Very pleased with it. Everything can be encrypted, all my bookmarks are there, and it'll even remember the last tabs open.... It's like you just continue a session when you get home, or to the office.

Oh I didn't know it did the tabs too! I've installed on my work computer just now so when I get home I'll run it there too. I'll see how cool this tihg really is.

Now my dreams have come true:

For the World Cup fans who want to stay on top of the scores while at work. The only thing I don't like is the skin that's added to the browser.

i can get it working on my laptop, but my desktop can't connect to it. plus, it bogs the 1gb of ddr i have to the point where web browsing takes a noticeable hit (sites are choppy as balls when it's running). eff it. i'll live without it because i'm way too lazy to troubleshoot. it's probably an incompatibility with one of the four million other extensions i have on my desktop machine. :notcool: :hudson:

I hate to bring up old stuff but I love this thing!! It's a lot better than my old method of before leaving work emailing all of the pages I was surfing to myself so I can continue what I was doing when I get home. Or exporting all of my bookmarks to an html file so I could copy them to all of my machines (of which I now have five, counting work). Even if firefox crashes I can open it back up and continue where I left off and it syncs up all of my passwords so I don't have to remember which ones I used where. Ah!! I love it!!

they must have updated the code, because i tried it again today and it now works (without me making any changes to my desktop or monster-sized list of extensions). hooray!
