Gotta have list for this spring/summer

Post by GeneralGrievous »

Just to organize everything into on cohesive list, I'm hoping for the following:

STI scoop (any color)
Hi Flow or catless downpipe
Cobb Accessport (maybe getting it new from Sam dont know)

and while I'm asking maybe an STI TMIC (bought and paid for TKS WILL!)

I guess I just see you guys as my automotive Santa Claus(s) so lemme know if you have a line on these and approximate prices. THANKS
:bling:

If you can help find me an 02-03 Impreza OBS, RS, or TS hood, then you can get first crack at my Blue STi scoop with screen.

have you ridden in an STi with the stock hood scoop? damn thing flaps like a wounded bird. obviously a lot of people don't mind, just make sure you're one of them before dropping the cash.

Ok... well TMIC taken care of (Thanks Will and Julian)

Next on the list, downpipe... any suggestions anyone?

And of course the CobbAP but I'll most likely be ordering that new...

well when i put the STi hood on my RS.... the biggest thing i noticed was the aluminum hood flexes like mad when you hit any sort of bump... way more than the beefier RS one.

the WRX hood doesn't do that (at least not up to 130mph) and it's aluminum. it's the STi scoop...

Well I wouldnt have been able to form an opinion concerning the flex of said parts at 130 and up....maybe one day, on the track of course 8)

Hi flow cat would be cool but I'm very down with a catless, very down indeed. Stage II here I come (hopefully)

Got some ching from work etc (long story) and I've been cleared by the significant other to purchase certain "necessary" items

hehe you also dont go offroad daily. even at low speeds i can visibly watch the hood flex. and the fastest i've gone witht he STi scoop was 120 (stupid RS) (on intersta...i mean a track)

but... since there is beefy intercooler sealed around the scoop, im sure my hood and regualr STis behave quite differently....

well what i meant to say was.. my car doesnt have an TMIC under the scoop... so the air just goes right down through and out. which might explain why i dont seem to have the whole "shakey scoop" issue

haha and theres no way my car is ever going to see 150.... it pegs out a 120 and its not worth it to me to attempt to get it any faster... that can wait til i get the STi

:lol2:

as long as pants werent dampened... I'm sure I'd have the same issue since I hit 110 on 66 and felt like the Police choppers were instantly going to fill the highway with spike strips

Nope, no pant damage ;) I will tell you, the car is amazingly smooth at those speeds!

i will say the RS was incredibly smooth at 120 as well.... it almost feels as if the wheel is adjusting its tension to match my speed... most likely just my imagination  but aye... theres something to be said for going 120 around a big long curve and half expecting to hear screching tires and the car to fly out of control.. but instead all you hear is road noise and the engine... no tire schreech.... no loss of controll... just a really fast turn...

i mean i was power-sliding and generally driving my RS around like a jackass.. and even my Honda Prelude Si driving... direhard honda fan girlfriend who hates almost every other car said "ok i have a new respect for subaru".... that and when she drove it... she was actually impressed with it. (just imagine how she'll feel when she gets into a STi)
