Oh utec gods hear my prayer!
lol,
alright, Zak, Darrin, I'm starting to notice that the resolution on the UTEC is not what i should be. The Tune i go from phil is spot on for in town driving. But i have started to really push the car as of late and I'm getting the load points to change so rapidly that the utec might flop between 40 and 80%
WTF!! i mean this plays hell if the ECU cant keep up with my driving.
I have been in contact with phil and he says that i should just retart the timing. I have done that/am doing that, but i cant help but wonder what else i can do.
I'll post the logs later, but you can clearly see that when i drop a gear and floor it, the change is just too great for the UTEC to make.

The resolution might not be the highest, but it's still workable. That sucks if it can't keep the transition smoth Hopefully Zak/Darrin will have a better suggtestion :/

Are you feeling a difference in the load site changes, or only seing them on the log?
I know that I used to have problems with false knock when I got the load sites to change so much that the jump in timing messed with the ECU's brains. Don't see any knock events on your log.
I assume that the log is not messed with, i.e. that was a three gear continuous run? Props for you getting a 1800 rpm drop shift in one log cycle. Looking at it, the boost curve and load points don't look consistent. For us EJ20's boost usually follows load, as the load increases, so does the ability to "grow" boost. Yours is the opposite. For the higher gears that should give higher loads, the boost for that RPM/Load falls away.
I'm comming from a single processor UTEC world, so I don't know how your dual processors work, but the timing seems to be already retarding on the tip-in and stays pretty constant once the cross-over load site is reached.
What is your crossover load threashold set to, 40, 50?

No, i cant feel the loda changing, but to me its all analog, vs that funk digital word my ECU lives it Its a really smooth progression for me and it feels just fine. I dont feel the UTEC trying to shift timing or anything.
The log was not messed with at all, it knocked in 2nd WOT, and i shifted into 3rd and backed off. And whats the drop shift thingy?
as for the boost, I'm still running the MBC, so we had to taper the boost off at the end (high load) because in 6th i was hitting 20+ PSI. I'll post the map later tonight so that you can see.
Does the timing seem retarted? I know phil is really big on timing so that may be where he keeps his safty margin.
and my crossover is 25%, and I'm thinking about either lowering it or raising it because I'll hit in in traffic and the car will buck on occasion
Maybe i should go hydra, and not have to worry about it.
Zak, have you had this resolution issue? i mean i know its just the UTEC being slow and not handling the load sites changing that fast. And the car is going to be tracked, i mean this was like a 70% run, I'll work it much harder.

ok, I'll raise it 5% or so, but still, freaking timing...bluscooby23 wrote:Raise your crossover point 5 or so degrees, that should eliminate all the bucking. That used to make me NUTS. I'm not sure about the lack of resolution as I haven't logged in some time now... Should probably check it out.

That just isn't right. you are running the stock turbo jsut at higher pressure ALA UTEC, right?
Julian, get your hydra ass in here and post up your IDC logs before you went all crazy and put that new turbo in...
Ross, we need to get you a new wideband to use in the Tuner, we gotta look at the AFR to see what is really going on.

huhwha? what are you saying (besides something is wrong)? yea, i think that might be my next purchase, from TXS is a turn from them.
I'm running a different ignition and fuel maps as well as upped boost.
