It looks like the impreza with a scoop. You guys didn't like the impreza?

Window tunnel testing makes all cars look the same.

Nope.

To add insult to injury they teased that WRX Concept and the leaks that the STi would split from the Impreza completely.

I read that there would be no hatch this generation. Anyone able to corroborate that?

Very sad to see it's so.... blah....

They had to split the STI off at some point. There just was no reason to buy one any more unless you really needed the DCCD.

So apparently the car is very different from the standard impreza. It's a little longer, littler wider, and nearly every piece of sheet metal is different. But as Jeremy Clarkson once said about the 911, "if you're going to make new panels, why no make them look different?" Why make a car that's different from the standard car look like the standard car? You have the increased cost of developing and manufacturing the different parts, but everyone who wanted a something that looked the concept is pissed off.

You and I seem to disagree a fare amount of the time, but I'm 100% with you on this one.

Every review I have read has high praises for the 2015 WRX. Even the CVT. Though that could be the paradox of low expectations at work.
Everyone is disappointed with the redesign (and the low rent nav) but other than that, apparently the performance and handling are better than ever.
I'll wait until some instrumented and true comparison tests come out to pass any judgement.
But sadly, for me it's no wagon/hatch, no deal. But perhaps the EVORG will answer my prayers.

I keep hearing good things. The meat under the curves are apparently very good, better than they have ever been. I definitely want to take one for a spin!

Has equal length headers :(

I'm afraid that the only good sounding cars will be too expensive to afford. Even BMWs sound like crap now that they're turbocharged. Only the Jag F-Type and even more expensive cars sound good now.

I will have to listen to the new WRX, but I suspect the boxer rumble will not be completely gone.
With rare exception, cars' exhaust are getting quieter. Mustangs and Jags actually design their exhausts to achieve a particular sound.
I suspect with the right aftermarket unit, the rumble can be recaptured and even accentuated.

Oh, throwing on a set of un-equal length headers will certainly bring the sound back, unless they changed the firing order.

Interesting side note: Howard (of Ar Fab) and I had a talk about the firing order of Subaru vs. Porsche engines one day. They are different! His thinking was that there were gains to switching to the Porsche firing order, but it would have required a custom crank, and therefore was really just too expensive to test on a whim.

I suspect the equal length headers have more to do with turbo placement. It is probably more centrally located.
