The Mysterious Subaru Levorg Concept Previews Subaru's Next Wagon
jalopnik wrote:These days, Subaru keeps the wagon torch burning hotter than most. And at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show, they're showing off a mysterious concept with a goofy name set to preview their next great wagon — and a few other goodies.P

This shadowy figure is the Subaru Levorg Concept. What the shit is a Levorg, you ask? Autoblog says it's "a combination of the words Legacy, Revolution and Touring," which is delightfully weird in this very 80s Japanese kind of way. It's like it should have its own anime series called Super Dimension Attack Wagon Levorg, or something.

I like what I've seen, and I'd love to have a sporty wagon with a manual transmission that didn't look like ass.

I will wait to pass judgement once the product is actually viewable.
Until then they are just "nice artsy shots."

It's the new Impreza WAGON and not hatchback. The world model will be the new 1.6DIT engine and we will prolly get a watered down 2.0-2.5. It is very similar to the old hybrid tourer concept in it's overall bodylines and shapes.

If they can put a decent powered turbo 4 in it with a good gearbox I think it will be a winner in our (dcawd / performance oriented) market.
And when I say good gearbox I mean something on the lines of the EVO X twin clutch model. If Mitsubishi could offer that nice of a unit back in 2008 I think Subaru should be able to offer a similar one by 2015. If you have ever driven an EVO X you know what I am talking about. It was the unit that convinced me that manuals were going to go the way of the dodo. Yes, I had driven dual clutch autos that were very impressive (GT-R, M3), but knowing that a twin clutch unit that was that good could be had in a car for less than $35k was a revelation.

Yep, the halo is gonna be present in all future offerings from Suby. The new Foz XT kinda has the same lit effect.

'grovel' backwards. is that what they assume they'll need to do to convince people to buy it?

When the LGT wagon falls apart (hopefully many years from now) I know what I will be buying.

I like it a lot as well. But I'm a fan of the current and past hatch or wagon style. It will be interesting to see if this is the new WRX Wagon for world/US consumption? Or if they will try to make another distinction between the wagon/sedan like they did for the 2010 Impreza GT (WRX hatch 4EAT)? Because as of yet I don't think we have any kind of confirm that they will be making a hatch/wagon WRX/STi.
