anyone else using this? i tried it a couple years back and was unimpressed (though i had the original iphone w/o gps at the time, so it was kinda slow and lacking detail). started using it again a month or so ago and quite happy with it.

I have it. A few fundamental issues.....its great for a co-pilot, not the driver. Actively updating it and reading it.....great real-time intel but not very usable if you're obeying the law.

I hadn't seen this before. I'll give it a try :) I've used Trapster in the past and it's ok.

BTW, started using Waze and really like it. MUCH better for traffic than the Apple (Tom Tom) maps and it shows police :)

i like it quite a bit.

a friend pointed out to me that it is also israeli-created. didn't realize, whatever i use it for i consider to be 'safe as public' information, but, fyi.

I've used a bunch, for traffic, IMHO the best app is INRIX.
As for popo, I thought Trapster was pretty good, but has some short comings.
Some areas have no info, others are often out of date.

highwaydrifter and I did a run up to the Lehigh Valley of PA this week to sell some car parts. He drove and had his V1 running with me on Waze. We used it for traffic and for keeping tabs on the cops. Worked VERY well. I stand by my previous statement that its optimal for a co-pilot/navigator but not for a driver. Being that Google has bought them, I'd like to see some integration into car systems, like Nav and update buttons.

I find their maps to be slow and difficult to manipulate. If you want to use the navigation and whatever route they give you it's OK, but if you want to see what traffic is doing a route the nav doesn't suggest it's a bit hard to do.

The 3D perspective does not work well with those gestures.

This came in handy yesterday as I drove to and from IAG. It warned me of speed trap (cameras) and of police. It's pretty accurate with the warnings. I guess the large user-base helps with the accuracy.
