I really need to get a ride in one of these....It looks like it's finally time for Audi to refresh its R8 supercar. Audi has just unveiled the refreshed 2013 R8 family, which now includes a new V10 Plus flagship model.
On the outside the 2013 R8 gets small changes like the addition of LED headlights, restyled taillights and a new front bumper. The biggest change is the addition of the new seven-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission. The new seven-speed features a three-shaft layout with two multi-plate clutches lying behind one another. According to Audi, the gearshifting occurs practically without interruption of tractive power within hundredths of a second, and so dynamically, smoothly and comfortably as to be hardly noticeable.
The R8 V8 is still powered by a 424-hp 4.2L V8, while the R8 V10 is powered by the same 518-hp 5.2L V10 engine. The new R8 V10 Plus model sits on top of the R8 lineup with its 542-hp V10 engine. With the S tronic transmission, the R8 V10 Plus reaches 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds.
The 2013 R8 will hit Europe first this fall, but don't expect it in the U.S. until sometime early next year.

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

I see them all the time. Good looking car, not too flashy. It would be a difficult decision between a 911 S and the R8 V8.

Up until this new 991, I'd have gone with the R8, but I really like the look of the new 911... looks like a big Cayman, which I'm ok with.Mr Kleen wrote:I see them all the time. Good looking car, not too flashy. It would be a difficult decision between a 911 S and the R8 V8.

It would depend on if I needed a [tiny, tiny] back seat. If not I'd go with the R8 just to be different. There are a lot of R8s but there are TONS of 911s.
