Re: 2012 Baltimore Grand Prix
I'm in for the room.
Make sure you have everyone's names added to the list - part of the problem I had last year was I told them two guests so they only wanted to give us two sets of tickets. The room rate may increase if we tell them 4 people...
The stadium view should get us what we want, but you could even go as far as looking at the hotel map and requesting certain room numbers in advance.
Thanks for organizing the room!!
What is everyone buying for tickets? GA? Seats? Pit passes?

Re: 2012 Baltimore Grand Prix
Some helpful info from the race organizers
Inclement Weather
Racing activities will continue, rain or shine unless a heavy thunderstorm with lightning is present. If advance notice is received that inclement weather is moving into the area, it will be communicated to all via the PA announcements. Spectators should take precautions for their safety.
Lightning
•Find a low spot away from trees, fences, poles and grandstands.
•If you feel your skin tingle or your hair stand on end, squat low to the ground on the balls of your feet.
•Make yourself the smallest target possible target and minimize your contact with the ground.

I think so, but I'm trying to move, so things are getting tight towards the end of the month.

I have a storage unit Laurel. I wouldn't call it a "place".

Re: 2012 Baltimore Grand Prix
I want to go but I'm trying to figure out which day would be best. One of the fantasy football groups I'm in is doing a draft / BBQ / get together Saturday night in Silver Spring at 7pm. I could skip that and do the ALMS race. Or do the draft and then the Indy race on Sunday. What to do...

http://www.baltimoresun.com/business/co ... ?track=rssIndyCar racing champion Michael Andretti will be at Giant Food in Parkville on Thursday to talk with shoppers and sign autographs.
Andretti, CEO of Andretti Sports Marketing, the promoter of the Grand Prix of Baltimore, will be at the store at 7709 Harford Road from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Andretti's son, Marco Andretti, will be driving the No. 26 Dr. Pepper TEN car during the IZOD IndyCar Series race on Sunday.
Landover-based Giant is a sponsor of this weekend's 2012 Grand Prix of Baltimore presented by SRT. The three-day event in the streets of downtown Baltimore kicks off on Friday.
AWESOME!

There seem to be a lot of grandstand tickets left. Any one have any thoughts on buying grand stand tickets?

Re: 2012 Baltimore Grand Prix
I am getting GrandStand tix for Sunday for the ALMS, and maybe others if the around track viewing is poor.
I'm going to re-post an e-mail I sent out so that if anybody wants to join in the fun, they can.
OK, there is satellite check-in from 7am-8pm, there is no driving into the hotel tomorrow before we check in.
I have reserved a parking spot for Friday during the day, and then after 8pm, we can move the vehicle into the parking garage of the hotel.
That being said, the arrival time is very flexible. Since we have a maximum of 4 interested people going, I am going to cancel the second
room unless everybody is in for doubling the price and having two per room or we find more people.
I'm up for carpooling as that would probably be the easiest. I have made the whole day work free, so I can leave/go whenever.
There is also MARK and Amtrak trains that get near and then a taxi can take over.
