Re: RallyX 2012
moxnix - this is awesome! thanks for putting the video together. in case i haven't said it enough, that rx7 made me grin from ear to ear the entire day. it was just non-stop fun!
It took a whole 10 seconds for the rallycross to elapse before spinning her so i knew we were off to a good start.
By the 5th run, i was getting used to using the throttle to hang the ass-end out on the rx7, vacating as much dirt as possible, pitching the car to wave occasionally at the corner workers . To be honest, there really was no decision between changing the car's direction to avoid cones vs. continuing the drift and plowing through the plethora of well-placed, in the way, symbolic sacrifices to the rally gods.
In fact, i think i just burst out laughing in the car during this run @ 2:42 "LAWLAWLALWAWL 2 left into 1 right. no way.":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGbTsog23as&hd=1&t=2m32s
For my final run, i'd even like to say i planned this flick into flick into flick^3 for the turn @ ~5:07...but...well, you guys judge yourselves
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGbTsog23as&hd=1&t=5m7s
Sure it may not have been as quick as STi guy, full boost, bombing down the straights, if that's your thing. But as an on-demand, instant oversteer, drift your eyeballs out-of-sockets machine, this was the clear winner in my book!

Re: RallyX 2012
definately a good weekend. my goal was to out-run STi guy since at the first rallycross, our event PRs were seperated by .013 seconds. (57.440 vs 57.427). Yes, it was down to a hundredth of a second.
this last weekend, my raw times* were (59.944+3 and 59.977+1) on STi guy's 60.145. Of course, then STi had to go off and kill himself. Hopefully he'll be back in Sep and we can settle this cleanly .
*for the rallyx purists out there, i realize rallyx is a cumulative event and cones are 2 seconds. all i'm saying is with the proper technique, u can take a 110whp 2.5rs, stock intake, snow tires, and give a 300whp, turbo, external wastegate, full turboback, rally tires STi a run for their money. plus, as katay4me can attest to, those cones are directly proportional to how much fun you're having. i'll just have to bring the workers a case of beer

Last weekend was awesome. I only had 1 or 2 offs. Like this one:

And a few cones were sacrificed:

Re: RallyX 2012
My car and I arguing over which direction to go on the T&T course:
And we were cooperating here:
The surface changes yesterday at the barn course were ridiculous. Went from sticky mud to drying, to hard packed and getting coated in rubber to breaking up like concrete by the end of the day.

Re: RallyX 2012
I sucked.
Being a noob and some small car issues (blown front strut from the T&T Saturday and fried ABS computer which has been that way awhile but haven't located a replacement for yet- and may just plumb it to fully remove ABS now anyway) kept me from being competitive. My best run was the very first one when course was slick and is the only run I didn't hit a cone. Run 4 I had an awesome run going (I think) which then got red flagged for the car in front of me. My re-run, I butchered and had to reverse once and then wacked 3 cones after getting out of my groove. Any hopes of keeping up faded when course dried and no water truck came to my rescue rendering my wide rally tires ineffective. Times and cones got worse as grip got better as lost concentration and just wanted to finish.
Twas fun but will probably limit myself to entering once a year.

^^^ Happy Subaru!
My original "Back end joke": Katie's new rendition: The BMW E30 guys are a great group (lol, clan actually) and we're always joking. On turn 2 later in the day, they setup objects on course for me to aim at. Unofficial Cones and Gatorade were among the casualties.... Action shot: George torchering Dirty Snow: Shawn... I believe his new nickname will be squatter (2, since Colin was the original ) And Jason's first outing in the Forrester!!!
