TurboSmart Dual Port problems

My car has been feeling laggy, hesitates, and backfires. I have been here some clicking from the engine bay area too. Tonight I stopped to adjust the spring to a softer setting to see if the car would continue to have these issues. When I turned the dial I got a loud clicking sound. So I whipped out the cell phone and took a video.

Put the BOV port blank back in and see if the sound goes away in full recirc.
Or better yet, remove it and put the stock plumbing back in.

If the sound changes when you twist the BOV, I would look at the BOV as a cause. From what little info that we have seems to me like a spring/valve-diaphragm problem. I would not trust the spinning of the components to reliably go from atm to recirc if there is a diaphragm problem..

If you don't have the stock BOV at least block off the atm port. If you don't have the blank that came with it, at least go to a hardware store and look for metal stacking shims or electrical conduit box punchouts to use as block-offs. You don't want to run the risk of sucking in unmetered air and running lean.

Let's all hope that the ticking is coming from the BOV instead of something more vital.

The plate is on so the atm port is blocked. These 1st Gen TurboSmart Dual ports have some issues. This thing retails for over $300!!!! I don't have the stock bpv, but Chad is heading to Maine this weekend and I told him to snatch me his 1st gen DSM bpv of his old Galnat Vr4. :ohsnap:
