2011 BMW M3 Frozen Black Edition Coupe Officially Unveiled for the US... Only 20 Available
BMW has announced that the US is officially getting a version of the M3 Frozen Black Edition Coupe.
The 2011 M3 Frozen Black Edition Coupe features BMW Individual Frozen Black exterior paint with a deep metallic luster to accentuate the athletic lines of the legendary M3. Extended Novillo Leather with unique red-contrast stitching is also specified, as are M3 GTS black wheels, red brake calipers, and gloss black exterior trim elements.
The M3 Frozen Black Edition Coupe is powered by the same 414-hp 4.0L V8 as the M3 and reaches 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds.
Only 20 units of the 2011 M3 M3 Frozen Black Edition Coupe will be available with a starting price at $79,650.

Gorgeous... and WAY more than I'd be willing to spend on it...

Cheap brake calipers look cheap. I got to drive a "normal" 2011 M3 w/ a Dinan exhaust, tech, premium, and competition packages. It was a hoot to drive and plenty enough for me.
I think this car is built for the BMW collector, not the BMW driver.

There's one on display in the Frankfurt airport. It looks great but I think I'd rather buy an M3 with a normal finish and do a matte vinyl wrap. Probably cheaper that way too.

I wanted to wrap the WRX in OD green but the only shop I could find wanted $3000
and the car had to be in NYC for 4 days.

I still wonder how well vinyl holds up to weather/bugs/rocks... I'd hate to pay 3k and have it only last 10k or something.

I saw Ovechkin's SL65 at Cars and Coffee and it was wrapped. It needed to be re-wrapped...lots of rock chips, etc.

It depends on your driving conditions but I've heard that it lasts about 2 years before you need to get it removed or redo the front.

In theory the flat black car rocks!
In practice, not so much.
I had a buddy who did a flat black job on his Eclipse.
It was beautiful, for about 6 months, and after about a year it didn't look that great.
By the time he sold it, he wished he hadn't done it.
