i think they're unnecessary on the current Impreza platform as the firewall (front and rear) boxes in the strut mounting points pretty well. some of the strut bars force you to relocate AC lines and such. if you get one, post up a review.

The firewall does provide alot of strength, but I put one on and noticed a little difference.

Those seem a little *too* cheap, even for e-bay speacials, so just watch yourself. Avoid XOXORacing like the plauge on ebay BTW.

The single biggest problem I have with these particular bars is the fact that they are NOT adjustable. Ideally you would like a set that are adjustable so you could pre-load the towers, offering you better turn-in characteristics.

the only front strut bars that provide any advantage are the 3pt strut bars. by attaching to the firewall, up to 95% of the torsional twist admitted through the shock towers is absorbed through the bar that attaches to the firewall. the reason this is important, the firewall won't move.
with two point bars, the other shock tower can push out during hard corning due to the compression being put to it from the strut bar.
just like rear strut bars, you want the 3rd attachment to have your solid mount.
