yep, I'm getting old. :) Also, I think there's more to steering precision than firmer springs and dampers....I'm not sure even coilovers would overcome soft bushings and geometry meant for high-speed capability vs. go-kart reflexes.

UPS man is coming today (FINALLY!!!). I'll get the new wheels on tomorrow....the fourth wheel is coming late because the original was damaged in mounting the tire. Good on Tire Rack for not sending me a nicked wheel (even if it was a super tiny blemish).

Great color. I've seen a few BMWs around with flat black and they look good, but I like the bronze (or what ever BBS calls this color) better.

they make them in silver, matte black and titanium grey (which I got). I was going to get black again but a few friends convinced me to wait for the grey....new color for 2011 and still on the boat to the US. Should ship the last week of the month.

thanks.

I'm getting a bit impatient. Here's TR's wheel viewer (on a C63 since these don't list this for my car)

Not sure I want to go with 19's. And if I did I'd HAVE to do suspension work to avoid the monster truck look.
But then again by next spring I will have paid off my salary advance...

So, do you ever make it to meets? I dont recall meeting. I'd love to have a look at the 550. Also, a question: did the ecu flash make it any louder? And what do you mean by "rush"?

I make it out once a month at most. As for the tune...no, not louder. The "rush" I'm talking about is above 50mph. Whether its gearing or retarded power down low (to counter the lack of traction of RWD), the car pulls harder up top.....especially at speed. It's almost like a turbo rush but of course its smoother. It puts your head back firmly and power builds effortlessly.

Think about it...same motor as in an S550 but with only 3700lbs to move.

Hm, I notice the same thing. My '55 feels kind of the same way. It's more linear than a turbocharger, but it does kind of 'wake up' at a certain rpm (honestly I forget where).

Well, maybe we should coordinate meeting at one meets some time. We appear to work in similar fields and drive similar cars, and I has questions about Kleemann and MB parts. The dr seems right - there's no room for improvement without a supercharger, really.... Headers and the x-pipe make the car a lot louder and are muy 'spensive for relatively modest gains.

Meh, bummer. I don't know anyone else who remotely likes cars and drives a MB. So many pricks driving them! Makes me wonder if they buy them because it's some kind of trophy or something? So many of these owners seem to have no idea of the quality of automobile they own! :(

Has J registered DCRWD too?

hard to tell from this pic, but the FX has 20" Rays R.E.M. Masterpiece, painted OEM color Diamond Graphite. I'll have to get a proper pic soon....it looks pretty sweet..better than I expected (they moved over from the old FX which was that color).
