i told you, you got pwnt.

weird about the wifi. that's (normally) one of the easier aspects of the device to set up. i'd go through all the troubleshooting steps but you probably know them all.

... you didn't forget that you enabled mac filtering on your router, did you? Image

I restarted the phone twice, still waiting for activation as of this morning. I shouldn't be surprised...

no MAC filtering on my router: if they can crack my WPA2 security they can spoof a MAC.

You won't be able to do squat until after activation. Don't sweat the wifi right now. You may very well have to go to an AT&T store to get it done right. I had to do the same for my 3G, though the original 2G was painless.

Hope it gets resolved for you soon.

The Palm Pre is the sexiest handset since the iPhone—and it also marks the dawn of a major new smartphone platform. Although it lacks third-party apps and has some battery life issues, it's much more fun than any other phone Sprint offers.

Pros
Excellent design. Very cool interface. Synergy feature consolidates e-mail, contacts, and calendars. Syncs with iTunes just like an iPod.

Cons
Very few third-party apps at launch. So-so reception. Short standby battery life. Limited IM apps.
Notable quote from the review: "The Palm Pre has the same exhilarating sense of possibility as the iPhone—and it's even worth switching to Sprint for."

Looks like the Pre isn't syncing with iTunes anymore. Thank you Apple. :?
We've been able to confirm that version 8.2.1 of the software prevents the sync from working, meaning that you've got to add music the old-fashioned way -- the Pre functions as a USB drive, too -- until Palm gets around to patching the hack (if they decide to patch it, that is).
Would you like to know more?

^^ Is anybody really] surprised?

I understand why this is lame on Apple's part from a consumer perspective. I also see why they (Apple) wouldn't necessarily want to foster compatibility with an unlicensed device from a competitor.

I am Jack's complete lack of shock.
