^^^ What injectors did you end up getting? Were they modded? Were they cleaned and flow tested?

Wait it gets better. The turbo they sent... 7cm turbine housing when I specifically asked for the 8cm and they confirmed it :(

NEVER EVER EVER ORDER FROM GRUPPE-S. NEVER. EVER.

Send it back! I know your tempted to just take that turbo and call it a day, but don't do it. The 8cm housing makes a big difference in top end on STIs. My guess is the injectors will work fine. My used RC 650s looked like hell when I put them on but they work just fine. But if your going to send the turbo back anyway you could always send back the set that looks used as well.

Sorry to hear about this latest set-back. You are just having all kinds of bad luck.

They are going to replace all 4 injectors and also FP will ship me the 8cm turbine housing and I can swap the part myself. ( I was weary at first, but it's a clip and a screw and kapow, easy enough ) The other option was to wait 6+ weeks for FP to build a new turbo, which apparently they are behind on and only have 1 guy building them.

Btw they said me swapping the turbine housing is easy and no problem, anyone have any flags go up with that?

I have only taken 1 turbo apart before and it was damaged.
When I took the exhaust housing off the roller bearing assembly anf the exhaust wheel just fell out. I'm pretty certain a undamged turbo would not do that.

It may not be "cake" but it shouldn't be a super difficult.
What are you supposed to do with the 7cm housing?

The exhaust housing shouldn't be an issue in the intergral balancing of the compressor or induction wheels. Once the turbo is "balanced" correctly the housings should be able to be removed and re-installed without affecting the internals.

Shouldn't the injectors be Helix purple? Also will I need any other parts/kits to install the turbo/TMIC/Fuel pump/Injectors? If so I can order that now. ( Like gasket kits whatever )

Exactly what I was thinking :) I'm not a turbo expert though and I may be missing something stupidly clear...

prolly just a different injector(nismo, sard, denso)that helix sells as "theirs".
i'd order some extra studs and nuts for the turbo if the new one doesn't come with them. they are expensive as hell for what you get. but when one comes out stripped or fused they are a godsend. new up and dp gaskets are a good idea depending on condition of the old ones.
tmic should be straight forward, maybe you could get the sti coupler or something of the like. spare hose clamps or upgraded clamps.
try and be low on gas when doing the pump. so spillage is minimized. have rags and a water spray bottle ready. prime the pump if necessary.
i haven't done injectors. andrew warned me of spillage into the combusion chamber when doing them. so follow instructions closely or talk to someone who has advice.

I don't believe the wheels are changed at all, I think it is just a matter of the exhaust housing size and the turbine wheels are independent of the housings. The differnce being a smaller housing will not allow as much gas volume to pass as a larger housing, thus restricting maximum flow. However, the smaller housing allows the exhaust wheel to spin more readily at a smaller volume level, thus spooling quicker.

The flow of a turbo, usually measured in CFM (cubic feet per minute) is built around the intake and exhaust wheels. The housings are directly related to when that max CFM is occurs and how long it is maintained.
Smaller housings allow the turbine wheels to achieve their peak CFM sooner. Larger allow the turbine wheels to maintain their peak CFM longer.

This is a bit over simplified, but you get the idea.

Also from gruppe-s when i asked about the color of my injectors:

---

The purple type injectors are the WRX (top feed) type injectors. The STI
type (side feed) are red. They are the same as the Power Enterprise
injectors.

You may need the oil line (although it should have been included with the turbo).

You can re-use your gaskets, I have re-used mine more than once.

The walbro pump should not need an install kit.

Ok just to note I only received the pump itself.
