Today on Ft. Belvoir I spotted a yellow RX-8 with plate that read:
PSTNH8R
I thought it was pretty original for someone with no torque and a new car that consumes a quart of oil every month or so.

They've also been the class winners for auto-x for at least the last year, possibly longer...

Yeah, don't forget that even though the peak torque isn't that high, it comes on early and stays on through most of the rev band. Gotta check that area under the curve for real world applications.

Now before everyone attacks me I didn't question the great handling of the RX-8. Front mid engine design and relatively low weight make for good handling. But when I test drove one I was really disappointed. It felt pretty gutless. Just my .02 cents

Of course it did, in comparison to a turbo boxer/v8/etc. We're 'merican dammit! We
