Re: 2010 Mazdaspeed3
I test drove a new Mazda 3 at a launch even this week. I preferred the old interior, but the new one is very, very nice. The car seems significantly quieter, at least when compared to a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3, ignoring the different exhaust. The clutch pedal was a joke. I could almost blow on it to depress it. There was zero friction point feel either. I understand that's the feel that many drivers look for in a car, but I found it obnoxious.
The 2.5 engine is... pokey at best. My Miata is definitely torquier feeling. I imagine the 3 makes it to 60 a little faster, but it was difficult to tell with two passengers. There are new ammenities like comfort access system (touch-to-unlock, and keyless ignition), as well as an more integrated navigation system, and heated seats.
With all the improvements, and the massive amount of space around the exhaust manifold, I look forward to test driving the Mazdaspeed 3!
