yeah, xen is cool. i haven't tried it yet, but a buddy of mine who worked at ibm was working on it... very cool stuff.
i'm a huge vmware fan, i'll have to try those other ones out though.

Okay, update time...
In short, this thing rocks! I've been playing Halo at full everything at 1280x1024 for the last four hours or so (give or take laundry and smoke breaks) ...and that's all on an external monitor. pretty kewl. Even at full bore the fans are reeeeely quiet. I'm struggling to find negatives here. Honest.
This thing does it all. Very very satisfied with the purchase. Now I gotta go raid Ben's PC game stash and see what else I can find.

Buy Dungeon Seige II for the PC off of Ebay (9$). I've been playing it for the last week and really enjoy it. Critical strikes are great, blood and guts go everywhere!

if you're looking for a pretty game, get Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. it's an RPG but it's really really purdy.

Interesting theory, but I can't see aapl selling the os without the hardware. it would destroy them as a hardware company. but the vista thoughts were quite interesting.
