Small update:
Jason Adams stopped by the shop and snapped some pics from his cell phone (I think) of the car.

Re: EJ205 GC Coupe
After some time off it's back to work on the car. It's set to come home as early as next week.
In the meantime, here's some shenanigans at Havspeed. (My car makes it's appearance at 3:40)

Well I suppose with a giant DNF on the side it'd cover multiple bases in any eventuality

Re: Cereb Daithi's Open Class Rally Car
Time to dust off the thread. There have been a number of events that have been going on out of my control. But I aim to get this back on track and have a bit of a bombshell of an announcement.
Instead of the previously plannned 2.5L block... we are going to be running 3.3L EG33 6 cylinder and focusing on NASA. This will put the car in Open All-Wheel Light Class. There were a few reasons behind this move. First and foremost was the cost factor of replacing turbos. Simplicity is also a plus. Linear power curve. And another huge factor is the fact that with 3 Imprezas sitting in the driveway already, I'm in the mood for something different. I had considered this route quite some time ago but rejected the idea initially based on the fact that it simply seemed silly and unnecessary. When I was at Havspeed though, Andrew and I got into the discussion. He actually had already purched 2 EG33 engines. The idea had started to pick up momentum during the "downtime" of this build and so I scaked up and started asking the opinions of builders/drivers in the community. The response was surprising. I had initially expected the idea to be scoffed at but so far this has been largely a positive twist.
There will be some unique challenges with this but some plans are already being set into motion. Amusingly enough though it will actually get this car on the road sooner. Both due to dramatically decreased financial investment as well as a new spark of motivation (I like the idea of not having to wrench on another damn EJ engine right now) I secured an engine and will be going to get it soon. Research at Moore Performance has already started on exhaust headers for a sister project that is currently underway (that will be a BEAST of a forester..) . Carbotron has already been making valuable suggestions on cooling (actually a very cool surprise in store for that) and a few more little nuggets of info will be trickling out in the coming weeks. This is hardly the most orthodox powerplant. With the new S2000 rules coming into effect overseas this actually will put the car at approaching double the displacement of a modern WRC car. I'm sure this choice will have it's supporters and critics but I'm very much looking forward to hearing the howl of this beast when it comes to life.
More info and updates soon!

Re: Cereb Daithi's Open Class Rally Car
ohhh...i've been waiting for someone to exploit this rather large loophole in NASA! glad to hear this will helps push the timeframe up. I think the 3.3L will give the wrx's out there a run for their money. similar power, but no lag, definately going to be exciting to watch.
cheers
