As some of you may know, i had to buy a motorcycle because i can no longer drive the gmc jimmy because my jimmy is leaking massively (it's not my fault that gmc named their blazer bastard child, a jimmy).
ok ok, maybe that wasn't really the logic, but after the last meet, i am re-committed to fixing this myself. I highly suspect heater core:
Symptoms:
- heat spots above top defroster vents that smell of coolant.
- coolant vaporizing and coming through front vents/change tray that is located right in front of heater core occassionally, usually as the vehicle approaches 210F.
- leaking from a small rubber tube that comes out of the firewall into the engine bay, below the front right wheel well, but not from the two heater core tubes.
that said, i don't have the requisite tool required to do the job. does someone have a 7.5mm socket, or something that is larger than 1/4" but smaller than 9/32"... i guess 17/64", would fit that bill - advanced auto parts was extremely not helpful in helping me find the right socket/tool and basically told me to go fish. the problem also is that these bolts are right above the dash and therefore there is a windshield in the way.
plz help - kbaithnx.
