Isle of Man TT 2009
As a few of you know a personal friend of mine turned in his registration form to race in the TT this year.
Well, as of today, he was granted entrance into his requested classes!
His name is Jimmy Vanderhaar, and he has been racing in WERA's endurance races with Team Velocity for the past few years.
He's on the right.
So I'll keep you all up to date.
Next steps are legal paperwork (will, DNR, next of kin, power of attorney, etc.) and getting him to the eye doctor to get contacts!

Isle of Mann is the deadliest race in professional motorcycling by far.Libra Monkee wrote:DNR?! (I know what it means I'm just wondering "why?")

Re: Isle of Man TT 2009
^Understood but why would they make you sign a DNR order?

Sorry, I just assumed it was voluntary to sign a DNR order. I didn't think it was forced.Libra Monkee wrote:^Understood but why would they make you sign a DNR order?

Re: Isle of Man TT 2009
I'm not sure whether it is or isn't. I just figured since it was part of the list and it's not one of those things that people normally do, that it was required.

Re: Isle of Man TT 2009
The DNR was a personal decision.
I mean, it comes with a set of requirements.
I guess he doesn't want to be a vegetable.
EDIT: Just to clarify we haven't made any decisions on the legal paperwork stuffs. We just compiled a list of things he needs to make sure are in order before the race.
Sorry, I guess that would make things clearer. :p

Just spectating would be badass, let alone racing.
Send him some cheers from my way.

I have requested on-board video and as much other video as possible.avriette wrote:my god what a rush. will there be any video, onboard or otherwise?
I made him some stickers to put on his bike for good luck, they look like this, lol:
But yes! I actually requested some of the sidecar racing, specifically, but I'm sure he's going to want as much footage of himself as possible, to show his family and friends back here in the states.
