I picked it up a few weeks ago. Haven't had a chance to tear into it yet.

I got it via Bittorrent - use CDisplay to read it on your PC.

And yes, it's an excellent graphic novel.

Why spoil a perfectly good movie? I will read it after I see the movie.

Yes, I am serious.

99.9% of the time books/graphic novels are better than the movie that comes out. The movie looks pretty damn sweet, IMHO, so I would rather enjoy the movie w/ no knowledge of the graphic novel...so that I am not sitting there pointing out the discrepancies and so that I don't already know what is going to happen throughout the movie (I.E. to enjoy the unknown ).

I can see that logic. Its the 'gimme the bad news first' sort of thing. Personally, I'd rather read it first so the ending of the book can be a surprise, rather than having the movie ruin the anticipation.

I have given the Graphic Novel as a gift to two people, but never got the opportunity to read it myself.
If anyone feels like lending me a copy, I promise I will read and return it promptly.

I also see Will's logic here. I have spent a great deal of time turning off my critical brain when it comes to watching films from Graphic Novels. Some I hated and than changed my mind a bit later (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen).
Some I knew up-front it would be difficult to make work but still liked the film (V for Vendetta)
Some worked very well (Sin City) (300). Some I thought were possibly better than the Graphic Novel (Mystery Men).

I'd rather get the "surprises" reading the original than from a movie. Watchmen is so deep and dense there is no way they'll be able to touch on everything, even if it is a good movie. I'm glad I read LOTR before the moves and I'm glad I'm reading Watchmen before the movie. but to each their own.

once I finish up I'll loan you mine, doc. you've loaned me enough books over the years... :rolllaugh:
