That's really strange. My last post just disappeared into thin air. When i do a search, the post shows up but when i click on it, it takes me to the thread but the post doesn't exists. Julian, do you have any idea what might be causing this?
Anyways, Here's a few more updated pics of the painted rollcage and dashboard in-place. Now we need to build an aluminum roof.

I've had several complaints, so I'll definitely be looking into this tonight!MrC@ptuning.com wrote:That's really strange. My last post just disappeared into thin air. Car is looking great. but, the question on everyone's mind is this: will it still sound like a jet flying by?

Unfortunely, I don't think it's going to sound like a jet anymore. We're running a DTA wastegate setup so you know how that usually sounds like.ElZorro wrote:Car is looking great. but, the question on everyone's mind is this: will it still sound like a jet flying by?
Here's a few more pics of our progress on our TA turbo tC:
Driver-side floor pan with integrated dead pedal
Passenger-side floor pan with navigator footrest. The ecu and some of the other electronics are going to be mounted behind the footrest.
Need to fit larger tires for more corner speed? Here we're flaring the factory fenders. We've added about ~20mm.

Re: PTUNING: Project RedLine Time Attack tC (Ver 2.0)
I don't know about that Ross. If we had set out to purposely build an unlimited track car, I think the fabrications would have been a bit more radical. Including stripping the car down to bar metal and throwing it on a car rottiserie. But we will see what happens, regardless of whether or not we place this season, one of the main reason to try to get the car in a few of the events this year was to test out all the parts and changes we made for the car. Of course a win would be a nice touch.spazegun2213 wrote: Why do i now think there are some V710's on the way and you all are aiming for rado? hehe, this is going to be a good season...
I hope you're training on your mountain bike and stationary cycle while we're completing the build. The ride this year is going to be very stiff and rough.

Re: PTUNING: Project RedLine Time Attack tC (Ver 2.0)
Here's a few more pics of our prototype return-style fuel system with billet fuel rail and a fuel swirl pot/surge tank. The surge tank will eliminate any possibility of fuel starvation under hard acceleration or high-G cornering forces. Anyone that has road race their tc with the factory tank or autox is probably aware of the fuel starvation issues during hard cornerning even with 1/2 tank of gas.
Our competition fuel system setup will allow you to either run a single external inline pump or dual setup if you're trying to supply fuel for a 1000hp. The factory pump does not need to be replace. Only an upgraded feed and new return line will need to be added to the factory fuel pump assembly cover.
Here's a few pics:

Here's the billet fuel rail with AN feed and return lightweight braided lines and Aeromotive FPR

Re: PTUNING: Project RedLine Time Attack tC (Ver 2.0)
We finally got the car up and running. Here's a few pictures of the tc getting ready for the dyno. In the next week or so, we will be testing our TA turbo kit with a STOCK motor, Ptuning 3" turbo-back exhaust, Ptuning return-style fuel system w/walbro 255 in-line pump, Ptuning 625cc injectors. The tune will be based on 93octane pump gas. Stay tune.

Re: PTUNING: Project RedLine Time Attack tC (Ver 2.0)
Here's a preliminary dyno of our TA turbo setup with a completely stock motor. The support mods are as follows:
Engine: Stock '06 2az-fe motor, stock intake manifold, stock TB, stock cams
Fueling: Ptuning 625cc injector & return-style fuel system w/swirl pot, inline walbro 255LPH pump
Ignition: Stock Ignition, 1-step colder copper plugs
Turbo system: Ptuning Time Attack turbo kit w/GT3076R .82 A/R
Intercooler: Ptuning 3.5"-core bar & plate Racing I/C
Oiling: Stock oil pump, Redline SAE30W Racing Oil
Cooling: Ptuning 3"-core Racing radiator, distilled water, Redline water wetter
ECU: Ptuning E-manage Ultimate Custom Setup:
-Pressure sensor (w/stabilizer pil)
-Blow-thru MAF setup
-fuel trim defenser (electronic via e-manage)
-Speed-limit eliminator
-Increased Rev limiter 6500RPM
-EBC solenoid and custom boost map via e-manage
-No Check Engine Light
Exhaust: PTuning 3" Exhaust system w/ TA 3" v-band downpipe
Dyno: Ptuning Dyno Dynamics Twin-twin 450 lowboy (factory calibration) in dynocell enclosure
Fuel: 93 octane Sunoco (no meth/water)
Air Temp: 80 Deg. F
Boost: 14.0 PSIG
HP: 334.9 WHP (Dyno dynamics)
= ~375 WHP (Dynojet)
= ~385 WHP (Dynapack)
We don't recommend anyone running this kind of power on their stock 2az-fe motor. Our motor only has 3000 miles on it and it still pulls 20in/hg of vacuums and leakdown shows less than 2% consistently across all cylinders after 175 pulls in that 3000 miles. We just wanted to experiment to see how much power the stock motor can handle before the engine's mechanical limitations was reached without Detonation. Right now we need to finish up the rest of the car for track testing prior to the first Time Attack event in Nashville.
Once we finish building our two race motors, we'll push the stock motor a little more and see what happens. We'll also be pushing the limits of our race motors (both with our ductile iron sleeves, one 1st gen, the other 2nd gen) with our TA turbo setup. We'll also test out the water/meth injection setup with 93 octane fuel). In the next few months, we'll also test out our turbo camshafts as well as our ported cylinder head with oversize valves and upgraded valve train.

July 26th-27th Nashville Super Speedway w/Import Alliance. We need to get the car on the track at summit or vir for testing prior to this event just to make sure the car is ready for a full day of racing.Mr Kleen wrote:sweet. when is the Nashville Time Attack? Nashville is a cool town.
