Enkei Racing RS05

Post by sirwilliam »

Yesterday, I saw these at the tirerack (which will start carrying them in Feb) and they are nice:

Remind me a little of the OZ Ultraleggra(sp?) but w/ more spokes (which I like better). They are Racing Series so they should be nice and light, too.

Specs:

* 15-spoke style
* One-piece, cast construction, MAT Process
* Screw-down, open-lug cap
* Manufactured in Japan
* Sizes 17x7, 17x8, 18x7.5, 18x8

I've always liked the looks of many spokes (all the way back to before the supraleggras and bbs rk's and such)

but cleaning 10k+ spokes? FAIL.

It's a damn shame too, cause they're just so... pretty. :(

^ Thats why I went with the classic 5 star wheel. So damn easy to clean.

So it takes a minute or two longer to clean per wheel. Big deal. That is all part of the fun in the meditation ritual of cleaning (making pretty) your ride :wink:

Yeah, just what you need Will, more attention.

The $395 for the 17" x 8" seems a bit much (not that $365 for 17" x 7" is a bargain) At least they're pretty light at 17.5 lbs for the 17" x 7".
But with the Enkei Racing RPF1 17" x 7.5" weighing only 15lbs each and only costing $235. I think I know where my money would be going.

Looks be damned, I'm a weight weenie.
Especially when they're 2 lbs and $130 bucks cheaper!

I am not getting these wheels, I just like them. The WRB color of my forester is more than adequate and gathering attention all on its own regardless of what wheels I put on it.

Yeah, I have a gold set of 18x8 RPF1s waiting to go on my ride in March (that is when I swap out my winter wheels/tires).

If I were to pick up the RS05s, I would wait until a clearance/closeout to get them for cheap.
